The event venue is at Bass Pro Shop at Lake Ray Hubbard, Garland Texas USA (Lat. 32.86553, and Lon. -96.53733)
This a battle tested , world class radio sailing venue. TRYC & AMYA have
hosted several national level events here including the 2010 IOM USA NCR, 2016 DF95 USA
NCR, and the 2017 IOM USA NCR.
The dock is used as a control area. It is over 270 meters long and 4 meters wide. It curves along
the shore providing excellent sight lines, and the flexibility for the Race Committee to set long,
square, consistent courses with the prevailing north south winds, or even an east course if
needed in the event of crazy Texas weather.
Lake Ray Hubbard is a freshwater reservoir with a 10 km fetch from the south dam. In prevailing
winds, there is great wind and wave action providing a fantastic test of sailing for the competitors.
This area is a popular destination for windsurfing/ kite boarding with Windsurf Bay Park right
around the corner.
